When Christophe L. brought me his moped at the end of summer, his goal was to have it restored by the Workshop but keeping its original "juice".
Upon assessing the beast, we agreed that some parts needed to be changed because they were worn, missing, or out of order. It also seemed necessary to recondition the wheels (dented, warped rims, broken spokes) and just get the engine running again.
Before incurring costs, we started by getting the engine running again. It was willing to start, but it made a nasty bearing noise, the ignition spark was erratic, and the clutch was full of grease.
The decision was therefore made to continue the work because the base was sound, but to make the engine "like new".
So we started from this base, showing its age but very sound:

The frame was cleaned, stripped, and polished, the chrome was buffed, the aluminum was revived, while the engine underwent a small rejuvenation.

Not forgetting the exhaust pipe, descaled and repainted in its "straw yellow" color.

Then, the rims were reconditioned and fitted with a new pair of white sidewall tires.

Not to mention the brakes, refurbished both front and rear.

New cables, sheaths, and flexible hoses, revised lighting, greased bottom bracket axle, forks, and clutch, Christophe's AV 48 was kind enough to start on the first pedal stroke for a quick road test... because it was very wintry :)
It works well, and naturally needs to be broken in for everything to operate smoothly.

Many beautiful retro rides ahead!
