When Herbert came to bring me his 88, I was particularly impressed by its overall condition.
In excellent condition, it nevertheless has a bad heart because it drags and grumbles at the slightest hill!
It's true that, even if it looks new, a moped that's 30/40 years old has been used a lot, the kilometers have piled up and, above all, the rubber parts have deteriorated!
So the crankshaft oil seals, engine seals, silent blocks, belt, everything has slowly dried out, causing significant air leaks or untimely vibrations.
So the "88" went under the knife!

and its "lung" was removed

for a complete dismantling on the workbench:

In addition to the engine, a little aesthetic work will be needed: fork gaiters, tires…
but also a good overhaul of the cycle part: excessive play in the fork, play in the handlebars, non-existent lubrication, etc., etc…
To be continued!!
