When Norbert GB contacted me, he had seen on the internet that a Workshop was dedicated to bringing Solex bikes back to life, not far from his home.
The goal was to restore the 3300, which he used as a teenager, to its former glory.
The 3300 in question had indeed seen better days, and we agreed on a complete restoration.
Paint, pinstripes, various parts, engine, chrome, zinc plating... everything was redone.
In the final result, it seemed iconoclastic to fit a plastic tank in place of the metal one.
Nevertheless, as the latter was completely beyond repair, we searched for a long time before finding one that wasn't too damaged.
A few bodywork repairs later, and the result was worth it:
Pinstripe repair:

of the engine and its tank:

To achieve a very satisfying result:

Mission accomplished for this 3300. Norbert was kind enough to send us the following message:
“I take this opportunity to express my complete satisfaction with the restoration of my teenage Solex (...and unused since 1970!), both for the quality of your work and for the quality of your communication. I've been able to take a few rides and everything is perfect. I'm delighted to have contacted ATELIER DE LA VIGNE and I'm ready to recommend your services; you can also publish this review and, if necessary, provide my contact details on a case-by-case basis to those wishing to restore their Solex. Thanks again.”
Thank you for these compliments, and we eagerly await new candidates!
