l’Atelier de la Vigne à Verna

Last weekend, the AKMD association organized its 27th vintage vehicle gathering in VERNA, a charming little village nestled at the foot of the Crémieu plateau, very close to Lyon.

I won't surprise anyone by saying that, over 2 days, this event has become, over the years, one of the biggest and most beautiful gatherings of vintage and prestige vehicles in the Rhône-Alpes Auvergne region... and even beyond!

This year, the gathering highlighted the 60th anniversary of the EDSEL FORD brand, the 50th anniversary of the MATRA 530 (already!) and the 40th anniversary of the V6 ALPINE.

An opportunity for enthusiasts of these machines to discover superb examples of these rare and sporty models.

Even if the Solex is poles apart from a Ford V8 or a PRV V6, it remains a nostalgic machine deeply rooted in memory and popular heritage, which is why l'Atelier de la Vigne joined "the show".

Many curious visitors were able to discover

  1. the white 3800 super luxe, a model little known to the general public and which always raises many questions and queries,

  2. the 103 Land, which is always a guaranteed success... all forty-somethings who were high school students at the time of its launch stopped in front of it, their minds filled with memories!

  3. the Motobécane 3800 also makes people talk about it for its "historic" side, as few people know that Motobécane bought Solex and marketed the Vélosolex under its brand.

  4. and finally, the last one to leave the Workshop for the occasion, a 3800 "rat's", which is a 3800 completely reassembled with the worst parts found here and there but with a well-tuned engine under its grime (and naturally the safety elements that go with it: tables, tires, brakes...). This last one generated a lot of discussion, both for the "before and after" in terms of restoration and for its "Hot Rod Rats" side, which managed to charm some people.

A great day in any case, which allowed for many exchanges with enthusiasts!
