DOPPLER OPEN Disc Clutch Pulley for 51
The DOPPLER clutch pulley from the Open range offers a new technological approach for mopeds. The conventional centrifugal shoes are replaced by a set of clutch discs, similar to those on large-displacement motorcycles, but 100% automatic. This solution offers greater efficiency in addition to being very compact. The throttle response is crisp and progressive.
The vehicle starts by engaging a pin; three positions distributed at 120° allow the pin to be received, thus reducing the distance to travel for starting. The mechanism disengages automatically by centrifugation after the engine starts. This technical solution allows for the abandonment of the freewheel bush in favor of a bearing mounting. This has two advantages:
- The ability to move the vehicle while stationary in both directions, without engaging the engine.
- Reduced runout due to play.
It consists of a plate machined from a block of very high-quality aluminum. Its silver anodized finish helps prevent oxidation. The 12 screws on the pressure plate provide uniform support. Their countersunk heads are naturally designed to prevent loosening.
