Restarting a 3300 at the end of the year!
Specifications: this family 3300 was to be kept in its original condition, but it needed to be able to go for rides without too much trouble.
The Workshop therefore carried out a somewhat extensive re-commissioning:
Engine overhaul, including changing the "famous" roller bearings. I remind you that the 3300 is actually equipped with the same engine as the 2200. It therefore inherits its weak point: its roller and the associated bearings.
Installation of a new exhaust pipe to allow the engine to breathe.
Mounting of a plastic tank in place of the metal one because the latter was perforated like a sieve by the effect of rust, and its restoration was not on the agenda, so the most efficient solution had to be found.
Restoration of the wheels as rust had taken its toll: new rims, new spokes, new tires, hubs microfilmed and varnished, reassembly, greasing and adjustment of the whole.
And the usual cleaning/polishing so that this 3300 can be presentable on its next ride.
Some photos of this 3300, simply re-commissioned. Please note that this is not a full restoration!

Also worth noting is one of the characteristics of Solex 3300s: the headlight cover that turns "khaki" over time.
And the original "shark tooth" bumper, quite rare and which I find very nice.
May this Solex 3300 have many beautiful rides in 2018!
