Last November, Georges S. contacted me about restoring a Solex that was very important to him.
A few days later, the Workshop received a set of 4 packages and a Motobécane Solex in a particularly dilapidated condition. Here's a photo of the rear mudguard, but the rest was just as bad!

Most of the bodywork parts were severely affected by corrosion, with some even being completely unrecoverable (mudguards)... The only advantage was that there were two engines instead of just one, which allowed us to choose the best parts to make one working engine.
The aim of the operation: to restore a Solex to new condition, resulting in a standard black Motobécane and a reassembled "original preparation" engine.
Everything was therefore disassembled, sandblasted, stripped, repainted, microblasted, renovated... and at the end of summer, the "Breton" Motobécane is ready for a new start.

Some photos of the result:

The maximum number of original parts were "recovered" and it works very well.
It will now be packaged and shipped, and we wish it many happy rides around Quimper!
