un lot de Peugeot 103 land et SP ! Episode # 1

After several months of searching for parts, 4 Peugeots are ready for a full restoration.

These are 3 Lands and one red SP.

Each client was able to draw up their specifications, send me photos of what they wanted, and thus "visualize" the moped as it should look, more or less, upon completion.

So, let's take a look at the "before" and the desired "after," which will also allow us, in the end, to make the traditional "before and after" comparison.

The first Land starts like this....

... and we need to get to this, but with black shock absorbers and luggage rack. (Photo Atelier de la Vigne)

The second Land starts from there…

... and we need to get to this, but without the "leopard print" accessories and with a "normal" exhaust! (photo taken from the internet, provided by the customer. Thanks to its owner)

On that note, if anyone has this type of rim in stock, I'm buying, thanks!

Finally, the SP starts from there….

... and we need to get to this, without the "liquid" engine, of course (photo taken from the internet, provided by the client. Thanks to its owner)

For the last Land, unfortunately no starting photo (they were dismantled too quickly), but it should look more like the first one.

But the base was no better than the other 3 machines.

As you can see, there's a lot of work!

The first step is the complete dismantling of the 4 machines and sorting between what will be zinc-plated, what will be re-chromed, what will be painted, and what will be scrapped :)

We also sort the parts according to their wear and make a list of parts to be replaced....

On the other hand, each engine is dismantled awaiting cleaning and reassembly. Here too, we sort what is good, worn, and therefore needs to be replaced.

So we end up with a giant Meccano set.... which is always a little scary because, one day, everything will have to be put back together!! :)

After a week of work, everything is in crates and the first treatments will begin.

  1. micro-blasting of parts before zinc plating:

  1. sending frame parts for stripping before sandblasting,

  1. sending various parts for chroming that require this treatment.

To be continued!
