5000 Orange

A new creation from the Workshop: an orange 5000.

Here's a brief summary of what was done to this machine, along with a photo slideshow.

Model: 5000

Options: a special 5000 bumper (with the cutout for the lift lever) but also a superb pair of panniers with a cutout as well, which allows you to pedal without the panniers hitting your heels!

What was done to this 5000:

The entire x has been restored down to the smallest detail

Chassis

The paint was completely redone by powder coating, as it was originally, after being stripped and sandblasted, piece by piece.

The chromes are new or re-chromed,

all the screws have been re-zinc plated,

The spokes and tires are new,

The plastics are new,

the tank and the magneto cover are new,

The stickers have been replaced identically,

The accessories (tools, pump, bell) are present and functional,

The front brake pads and rear brake linings are also new,

finally, the sheaths and cables have been replaced with new ones.

Engine side

The engine was treated according to the "original" preparation:

  1. Disassembly, cleaning and micro-blasting of all engine parts,

  2. Replacement of bearings (engine and clutch), seals and oil seal on the engine side,

  3. Replacement of all screws with new zinc-plated original screws,

  4. New segmentation, cylinder honed and repainted in glossy black HT paint,

  5. Clutch overhaul,

  6. Fuel pump overhaul,

  7. Cleaning of fuel hoses,

  8. Carburetor overhaul and cleaning,

  9. Replacement of the fuel return hose on the tank,

  10. Ignition overhaul and adjustment, installation of an electronic capacitor,

  11. Replacement of the spark plug wire and spark plug,

  12. Installation of a new air filter and reaming of the filter chimneys to match the new cylinder,

  13. Replacement of engine support rod silent blocks,

  14. the exhaust is new.

When riding, it is in the break-in period, and a short ride on the small Ardèche roads allows it to gradually free up.

Some photos for fun 🙂

Barn find?

In this condition, we all dream of it 🙂

It climbs nicely, the gorges are deep!
