When this client arrived at the Workshop, they wanted to refurbish their 5000 and restore it to its original color, which was snow white.
Since the moped was quite well preserved, we agreed to freshen up the paint and screws, fine-tune the engine so it could run reliably, but keep as many original parts as possible.
As usual, the work begins with a complete disassembly of the moped:

We make an initial sorting of parts according to their state of preservation or their upcoming treatment: paint, galvanizing, simple cleaning...
We also draw up a list of missing or out-of-order parts, which will allow us to find them before starting reassembly.
Some photos of this 5000 so that we can have an "before" to compare in a few months with the "after"

After a few hours of work, all of this takes up much less space!

And the restoration process can begin...
As usual, it all starts with the central beam, the fork, and the kickstand support; this forms the "skeleton" of the Solex and gives it some stability.

Then we "graft" the other elements, one by one, little by little...

And we finally have a complete frame that we can test for a few kilometers.

Here, at the end of the "bike" test, the freewheel was changed for smoother pedaling.
It remained to mount the last elements: lights, new pedals, stickers, etc.
and naturally to redo the engine!
It remained to do the engine and then the finishing touches.
The engine: we opted for a Stage 2 preparation. This is indeed the most suitable level for a 5000, which is a lightweight and quite "lively" Solex.
More power would make it more "dangerous" due to its frame and small wheels.
Once the engine is grafted onto the frame, we can adjust the details and take some final photos:

One more on the road !!
